IRC Tutorial – Create A Nickname And An IRC Chat Room


Steps: 1.Download And Install mIRC www.mirc.com 2.Run mIRC 3.Click Servers 4.Double Click WyldRyde 5.Double Click Random server 6.Type Your name, email (optional), And your desired UNIQUE nickname If it is not unique, you cannot use it! 7.Press Connect 8.Close the mIRC Favorites for now 9.Make sure it does not say This nickname is registered and protected. (If it does your nickname is taken) 10.Type /msg nickserv register password email 11.It should then say your nick is now registered. 12.To register a channel type /join #YOUR CHANNEL NAME 13.If in the right side bar there is an @ in front of your name (meaning you are an op), your channel is not yet registered 14.To register it type /msg chanserv register #channel password description 15.Your channel is all registered!! You are now an op in your channel. 16.Next time you use mIRC click connect and type #channelname in the mIRC favorites dialog 17.Then type /identify PASSWORD to login! 18.For some simple commands, please check the sidebar or go to my website phil.philocity.net 19.Some Simple Commands: Register a nickname: /msg nickserv register password email Register a channel: Set the topic /topic #CHANNELNAME topic Username is…: /me ______ Assign a bot: /botserv assign #CHANNEL Botname See all bots: /msg botserv botlist For more advanced commands: www.wyldryde.org Click Commands. phil.philocity.net |-| phil.philocity.net/live

    can u zoom in.?i can not see were u typed channel discribtion there was a box in the way. do i name my own channel discribtion? u went a little to fast for me after that, it did not work after the channel discribtion. thank u.

    No offence, but you dont know much about IRC really do you? The way you used the commands (using Special alias’ such as /register and /identify) Showed that you dont understand it. Hey, you may do.. and you have to remind people there are more networks than just Wyldryde. And Wyldryde is no where near the biggest network.
