When the Internet was in its infancy, could only read the text in the form of static web pages or email. But it was so long ago. Internet is maturing rapidly. There are a plethora of applications that are freely available for download. These applications enable Internet users to connect to each other for free. The birth of instant messaging and chat applications. Those who have been surfing the Internet in the last ten years or so will be familiar with instant messaging programs and chat applications. In the early days, the popular chat application is IRC (Internet Chat broadcast). To chat with other people, we have to connect to a chat server and join a chat room. “Once there, you may or chat with others, or click on a nick and start a conversation. Chatting in this context means simply typing messages that are sent to the server, which is displayed by the opposing party. The process is almost instantaneous. Google Talk is distinguished among all other chat applications, because it is lighter, and being lightweight, it extremely fast loading. Recently, this application has been updated with voice and video. In the past, instant messaging programs have never tread into the realm of voice and video. Google Talk is not the first to offer this feature, but too late for both parties. Google Talk voice calls and does very well on video competition. This means that with the application, you can call anyone in the world for free. To do so, your PC, a connection to Internet and a copy of Google Talk are required.
